The meeting was well attended by 17 competitors travelling from as far as Worcester, Milton Keynes, and Newport Pagnell.
Light NE winds greeted the sailors for the first race giving the day a patchy start causing the committee to shorten the race by one lap to enable a prompt lunch with a forecast of strengthening winds for the afternoon races.

Swarkestone SC’s Tim Hand in his new Mk2 boat had led from the start and finished comfortably ahead of the rest of the fleet, with host club member Tony Bleasdale finishing second in a Mk1 and Hunts SC’s Jon Pebody taking 3 rd place. The wind did increase but Hand kept up his dominance in the 2 nd and 3 rd races again leaving the fleet well behind, the chasing pack competed closely for the runners-up places with strong challenges coming from Mark Meadows, Tony Bleasedale, Jon Pebody and Nick Whiles.

The ladies battled well in the middle of the mix with current champion Serena Stewardson coming out on top. Joanne Daubney and Amie King both of Girton SC taking 2 nd and 3 rd overall.
